  • पुं० [फा० पर्चः] १. कागज का टुकड़ा। चिट। २. कागज के टुकड़े पर लिखी हुई छोटी चिट्ठी या सूचना। मुहा०—(किसी बड़े की सेवा में) परचा गुजरना=निवेदन-पत्र या सूचना-पत्र उपस्थित किया जाना। ३. विद्यार्थियों की परीक्षा में आनेवाला प्रश्न-पत्र। जैसे—हिंदी का परचा बिगड़ गया है। ४. अखबार। समाचार-पत्र। ५. कोई ऐसा सूचना-पत्र जो छाप या लिखकर लोगों में बाँटा जाता हो। (हैंड-बिल) पुं० [सं० परिचय] १. जानकारी। परिचय।(यह शब्द केवल स्थानिक रूप में प्रयुक्त हुआ है) मुहा०—परचा देना=ऐसा लक्षण या चिह्न बताना जिससे लोग जान जायँ। नाम-ग्राम बताना। परचा माँगना=किसी देवीत-देवता से अपना प्रभाव या शक्ति दिखाने के लिए आग्रहपूर्ण प्रार्थना करना। २. प्रमाण। सबूत। ३. जाँच। परख। ४. रहस्य संप्रदाय में, किसी बात का निश्चित प्रत्यय या पहचान। प्रत्यभिमान। उदा०—साईं के परचे बिना अंतर रह गई रेख।—कबीर। पुं० [फा० पर्चः] जगन्नाथजी के मंदिर का वह प्रधान पुजारी जो मंदिर की आमदनी और खर्च का प्रबंध करता और पूजा-सेवा आदि की देख-रेख करता है
