Tickled pink --- खुशी से पागल होना (To be very pleased, thrilled or delighted about something)

I was tickled pink when I got the chance to meet PM.

जब मुझे प्रधानमंत्री से मिलने का मौका मिला, तो मैं खुशी से पागल हो गई।

Seeing pink elephants --- नशे में चूर (intoxicated)

Anyone who heard his story thought he saw pink elephants. It was just a far-fetched story (जिसने भी उसकी कहानी सुनी सोचा कि वह नशे में चूर था। यह सिर्फ एक अवास्तविक कहानी थी।)

Pink Slip --- गुलाबी पर्ची/ नौकरी से निकालने के लिए दिया गया नोटिस (A termination notice received from a job)

He was in total disbelief when he received a pink slip from his boss today. (वह पूरे अविश्वास में था जब उसे आज अपने बॉस से गुलाबी पर्ची मिली।)

In the pink (of something) --- पूर्ण स्वस्थ (in very good health)

These men are in the pink of condition, and the army wants to keep them that way. (ये लोग पूर्ण स्वस्थ हैं, और सेना उन्हें इस तरह से रखना चाहती है।)

Pink collar: पिंक कॉलर/ नौकरियां जो अधिकतर महिलाओं द्वारा की जाए (refers to a particular class of jobs once only filled by women)

Nursing and secretarial work are normally considered as pink collar jobs. (नर्सिंग और सचिवीय काम सामान्यतः गुलाबी कॉलर नौकरियों के रूप में माना जाता है।)

Babe in arms – नवजात शिशु (a very young child  enough to be held in someone’s arms)

My aunt went for shopping, accompanied by a babe in arms and a child aged about six. (मेरी चाची खरीदारी के लिए गई, एक नवजात शिशु और एक लगभग छह वर्ष के बच्चे के साथ।)

Babe in the woods – अनुभवहीन व्यक्ति (someone who has not had much experience in life)

A few of the players were babes in the woods, just out of high school. (खिलाड़ियों में से कुछ अनुभवहीन थे, सिर्फ हाई स्कूल से बाहर आये हुए थे।

Blue-eyed boy – पसंदीदा व्यक्ति (Someone’s favourite person)

He was the media's blue-eyed boy. (वह मीडिया का पसंदीदा व्यक्ति था।)

Boys will be boys – बच्चे तो बच्चे ही रहेंगे (boys or men behave in certain ways, often noisily or irresponsibly)

My children are always being noisy with their friends. But boys will be boys. (मेरे बच्चे हमेशा अपने दोस्तों के साथ शोर करते हैं। पर बच्चे तो बच्चे ही रहेंगे।)

Child’s play – बच्चों का खेल/ बहुत आसान काम (very easy and simple to do)

For me, playing the guitar is child’s play. (मेरे लिए गिटार बजाना बच्चों का खेल है।)

In embryo – अविकसित अवस्था में (exists but has not developed)

Vibha has a great idea for a new shop but it’s still in embryo and needs a lot more work. (विभा के पास नई दुकान के लिए एक बहुत अच्छा विचार है, लेकिन यह अभी भी अविकसित अवस्था में है और एक बहुत अधिक काम की जरूरत है।)

RITE - यह एक noun है।

a religious or other solemn ceremony or act (विधि/ रस्म)

Their marriage rites were performed beautifully. (उनकी शादी की रस्मों को खूबसूरती से किया गया।)

a social custom, practice, or conventional act (संस्कार)

These days, the old rites are not so popular with the new generation. (इन दिनों, पुराने संस्कार नई पीढ़ी में इतने लोकप्रिय नहीं हैं।)

RIGHT -

Right का प्रयोग एक noun, adjective, verb और adverb की तरह किया जाता है।

She doesn't understand the difference between right and wrong. (वह सही और गलत के बीच का अंतर नहीं समझती।) (right - as a noun)

I hope we're doing the right thing. (मुझे आशा है कि हम सही काम कर रहे हैं।) (right - as an adjective)

He had guessed right. (उसने सही अनुमान लगाया था।) (right - as an adverb)

Demonetization proved to be an important step towards righting the country’s economy. (विमुद्रीकरण देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को सही करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम साबित हुआ।)(right - as a verb)

RIGHT - Right का इस्तेमाल अलग-अलग परिस्थितियों में कुछ इस प्रकार किया जाता है:

As a noun

Something which is morally correct (उचित अधिकार)

It’s time that we all start respecting the equal rights of women. (अब समय है कि हम सभी को महिलाओं के समान अधिकारों का सम्मान करना चाहिए।)

a moral or legal entitlement to have or do something (हक़)

She had every right to be angry. (उसे गुस्से होने का पूरा अधिकार था।)

As a verb

To restore to a normal or correct state (सामान्य या सही स्थिति में वापस लाना)

Demonetization proved to be an important step towards righting the country’s economy. (विमुद्रीकरण देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को सही करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम साबित हुआ।)

As an adjective

True or correct as a fact (सही)

I set the clock to the right time. (मैंने घड़ी को सही समय पर सेट कर दिया।)

morally good, justified, or acceptable (यथोचित/ सही)

I hope you are doing the right thing. (मुझे आशा है कि आप सही काम कर रहे हैं।)

A direction (दाहिनी दिशा)

He likes to sleep on the right side of the bed. (वह बिस्तर के दाहिनी ओर सोना पसंद करता हैं।)

As an adverb

To the furthest most extent = अधिकतम सीमा तक

These days, women right throughout the country feel unsafe. (इन दिनों, देश भर में महिलाओं असुरक्षित महसूस करती हैं।)

Immediately = तुरंत

I’ll be right back. (मैं अभी वापस आ जाऊंगा।)

in the required or necessary way; satisfactorily (ठीक-ठीक)

Nothing's going right for me this season. (इस मौसम में मेरे लिए कुछ भी ठीक-ठीक नहीं है।)
