Great cry little wool. (ऊँची दुकान फीके पकवान/ नाम बड़े और दर्शन छोटे।) This expression comes from the idea of shearing (ऊन कतरना) pigs where the result could be expected to be great cry and little wool. (जब सुअरों के बाल काटे जाते हैं तो उम्मीद तो बहुत सारे ऊन की होती है पर बहुत कम ही मिलता है।)
बहुत बार हम केवल बाहरी दिखावा देख कर उस व्यक्ति, जगह या वस्तु का अनुमान लगाते हैं। पर वास्तविकता दिखावे से बिलकुल अलग होती है। जरूरी नहीं है कि नाम के अनुरूप ही गुण हो। आजकल सब online होता है। बाहर खाना खाने से पहले उस होटल के विषय में सब कुछ online देख लिया जाता है। परन्तु जाने पर वहां का ambience, service और food बिल्कुल ही विपरीत मिलती है। इसे ही कहते हैं "ऊँची दुकान फीके पकवान।" उस विषय के बारे में बहुत बातें होती है पर होता कुछ भी नहीं है। A lot of fuss about nothing - देखने में अच्छा पर असलियत में सामान्य होता है।
Complicated (adjective) - difficult to analyze or understand (उलझा हुआ/ जटिल/ पेचीदा)If it doesn't look too complicated, maybe I can fix it. (यदि यह बहुत जटिल नहीं लगती है, तो शायद मैं इसे ठीक कर सकता हूँ।)
difficult (adjective) - not easy to do, deal with, or understand (कठिन)
Analysis of data is a difficult and complicated process. (आंकड़ों का विश्लेषण एक कठिन और जटिल प्रक्रिया है।)
complex (adjective) - consisting of many different and connected parts (जटिल)
Politics are too complex for me to understand. (राजनीति मेरे समझने के लिए बहुत ही जटिल है।)
incomprehensible (adjective) - impossible to understand (समझ या अनुमान के बाहर)
I found his behavior utterly incomprehensible. (मैंने उसका व्यवहार पूरी तरह से समझ से बाहर पाया।)
intricate (adjective) - very complicated and difficult to understand or learn
She was tired with that intricate puzzle. (वह उस जटिल पहेली से थक गयी थी।)
convoluted (adjective) - extremely complex and difficult to follow (पेचीदा/ जटिल)
We've a fairly convoluted and emotional history. (हमारा एक बहुत ही जटिल और भावनात्मक इतिहास है।)
the devil is in the detail - इस वाक्यांश का प्रयॊग ऐसे कार्यों को बताने के लिए होता है जो देखने में बहुत ही आसान लगते हो, पर वास्तव में बहुत ही कठिन और जटिल होते हैं।
Immoral (adjective) चरित्रहीन/ अनैतिक ---- amoral (adjective) नीतिभ्रष्टआप जो कर रहे हैं, कुछ लोगों के द्वारा Immoral (अनैतिक) माना जा सकता है। जो व्यक्ति 'amoral' (नीतिभ्रष्ट) है, वह सही और गलत में अंतर नहीं कर पाता और ना ही यह सोचता है कि उसके द्वारा किया कार्य नैतिक है या नहीं। He is not concerned with morals; he is outside the sphere of morality.
Immoral (अनैतिक) का अर्थ स्थापित नैतिक सिद्धांतों (established moral principles) के विपरीत होता है। Immoral actions are corrupt, unethical, sinful, or just wrong.
Amoral का अर्थ है neither moral nor immoral या नैतिक संवेदनशीलता की कमी।
दोनों के अर्थ एक समान से लगते हैं पर इनमें एक सीधा अंतर है - immoral चीज़ें बुरी होती है जबकि amoral चीज़ें नैतिक दृष्टिकोण से ना तो अच्छे और ना ही बुरे होते हैं या फिर सीधे सीधे नैतिक विचारों से बिलकुल अलग होते हैं। जैसे -
During the Taliban regime, buzkashi was banned, as were most sports, because it was considered immoral. (तालिबान शासन के दौरान, बुज़कशी, पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया था जैसे अधिकतर खेलों पर था, क्योंकि यह अनैतिक माना जाता था।)

बिगाड़ा हुआ किशोर मानना था कि उसके पास सब कुछ हो सकता था जो वह चाहता था और उसकी कोशिशें नीतिभ्रष्ट थी।
