वि० [सं० प्र-आ√रभ्+क्त] (काम) आरंभ किया हुआ। जो शुरू किया गया हो। पुं० पूर्व जन्म अथवा पूर्वकाल में किये हुए अच्छे और बुरे कर्म जिसका वर्तमान में फल भोगा जा रहा हो। २. उक्त कर्मों का फलभोग। विशेष—इसके दो मुख्य भेद हैं—(क) संचित प्रारब्ध जो पूर्व जन्मों के कर्मों के फल-स्वरूप होता है; और (ख) क्रियमान प्रारब्ध जो इस जन्म में किये हुए कर्मों के फलस्वरूप होता है। इसके सिवा अनिच्छा प्रारब्ध, परेच्छा प्रारब्ध और स्वेच्छा प्रारब्ध नाम के तीन गौण भेद भी हैं। ३. किस्मत। तकदीर। भाग्य।
