ऐसे Pronoun जिनसे स्वयं के भाव का बोध हो, उन्हें Possessive Pronoun कहते हैं।
my, mine, our, ours, its, his, her, hers, their, theirs, your and yours
(These are all words that demonstrate ownership.)
These are your toys. (ये आपके खिलौने हैं।)
ध्यान रखिये Possessive pronouns में कभी apostrophe (') नहीं लगाते -
Is that car yours/hers/ours/theirs?
आप इस तरह नहीं लिख सकते -
हम possessive pronoun का प्रयोग पूरे वाक्यांश को दोहराना ना पड़ें, इसके लिए भी करते हैं जैसे -
Is that Sara's car?
No, it's mine. (NOT No, it's my car.)
हम possessive pronouns और nouns का प्रयोग of के बाद कर सकते हैं जैसे -
Sara is one of my friends. या फिर Sara is a friend of mine.
(Sara is a friend of me. बोलना या लिखना गलत है।)
