Affect and Effect
Affect (to influence) -- एक verb (क्रिया) है जिसका अर्थ है "प्रभावित करना" (to have an impact on). To affect मतलब किसी को प्रभावित करना या बदलना।
“Will the new rules affect me?” (क्या नए नियम मुझे प्रभावित करेंगे?)
Effect (result) एक noun है जिसका अर्थ है - प्रभाव पड़ना। Effect किसी कार्य का परिणाम है।
Your scoldings will have no effect on him. (आपकी डाँट का उस पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ेगा।)
Eg.
RIGHT: The criticism of his behaviour had a really negative effect on him.
(WRONG: The criticism of his behaviour had a really negative affect on him.)
RIGHT: The criticism of his behaviour didn’t really affect him.
(WRONG: The criticism of his behaviour didn’t really effect him.)
