Meaning: जानबूझ कर या अनजाने में किसी दूसरे को upset, irritate या annoy कर देना
• He ruffled some feathers with his idea to cut his employee’s salaries.(वेतन में कटौती करने का सुझाव देकर उसने अपने कर्मचारियों को परेशान कर दिया।)

CHEESE SOMEONE OFF
Meaning: किसी को अपनी annoying habits से frustrate कर देना
• Her lagging attitude towards work really cheeses me off! (काम के प्रति उसका सुस्त रवैया मुझे बहुत निराश करता है।)

GET UNDER SOMEONE’S SKIN
Meaning: किसी को इस हद तक परेशान का देना की उसे आपसे चिड़ हो जाए
• I can’t stand being around her, everything she does just gets under my skin. (मैं उसके आस-पास होना बर्दाश नहीं कर सकती, वह जो कुछ भी करती है, मुझे उससे चीड़ हो जाती है।)

RUB SOMEONE THE WRONG WAY
Meaning: किसी के साथ गलत तरीके से पेशआना जिससे वह खीज जाए
• Her blunt way of speaking always rub people the wrong way. (उसका मुंहफट अंदाज अक्सर लोगों को खिजा देता है।)

FOND OF - किसी चीज़ का शैकीन होना

ENDEARMENT - ममता व लाड़ प्यार
• His words were full of endearment. (उनके शब्द ममता व लाड़ प्यार से परिपूर्ण थे।)

CHERISH - अच्छा लगना
• I cherish our friendly relation. (मुझे हमारा दोस्ताना संबंध बहुत अच्छा लगता है।)

AFFECTION - स्नेह भाव से भरपूर प्रेम
• She has a lot of affection towards animals. (उसे जानवरों के प्रति बहुत ज़्यादा स्नेह है।)

INFATUATION - किसी से होने वाला प्रबल मगर बहुत कम समय तक रहने वाला आकर्षण
• He has developed an infatuation towards that girl. (वह उस लड़की की तरफ बेहद आकर्षित हो गया है।)

A match made in heaven – a perfect combination of two people or things (दो लोग या चीजों का एक आदर्श संयोजन/ स्वर्ग में बना जोड़ा)
• They are getting married soon. They are a match made in heaven. (वे जल्द ही शादी कर रहे हैं। उनकी जोड़ी स्वर्ग से बनी है।)

Head over heels (in love) - to be in love with someone very much (पूरी तरह से प्यार में होना)
• They met a few days back and instantly fell head over heels for one another. (वे कुछ दिन पहले मिले और तुरंत एक दूसरे के प्यार में पड़ गए।)

To be smitten with someone – to be completely captivated by someone and feel immense joy (प्रेम में पागल होना)
• Aliya is smitten with Varun; she is continuously talking about him. (आलिया वरुण के प्रेम में पागल हो गयीहै। वह उसके बारे में लगातार बात कर रही है।)

Love at first sight - falling in love with somebody the first time you see them (पहली नजर में प्यार होना)
• It was love at first sight when they met, but it didn't last long. (यह पहली नजर का प्यार था जब वे मिले, लेकिन यह लंबे समय तक नहीं चला।)

To be a soul mate – to be someone who understands and accepts the other person completely (जीवनसाथी/ अच्छा दोस्त)
• My husband is my best friend and my soul mate. (मेरे पति मेरे सबसे अच्छे दोस्त है और मेरे जीवन साथी है।)
