हमेशा इन phrases के बाद Gerund (verb + ing) का प्रयोग करें

to be busy - He is busy reading the newspaper. (वह अखबार पढ़ने में व्यस्त है।)

(wrong - to be busy to read)

don't mind - I don't mind telling them my opinion. (मुझे उन्हें मेरी राय बताने में कोई दिक्कत नहीं है।)

(wrong - don't mind to tell)

feel like - We feel like having a cup of tea. (हमें एक कप चाय लेने की इच्छा हो रही है।)

(wrong - feel like to have)

how about - How about walking home instead of taking the car? (कार लेने के बजाय घर चल कर जाने के बारे में क्या विचार है?)

(wrong - how about to walk)

it's (no) good - It's no good talking on this topic. (इस विषय पर बात करना कोई अच्छी बात नहीं है।)

(wrong - it's (no) good to talk)

Xanthophobia– Fear of the colour yellow (पीले रंग का डर)

Turophobia- fear of cheese (चीज़ से डर)

Somniphobia- fear of falling asleep (सोते रहने या सो जाने का डर)

Coulrophobia – fear of clowns (जोकर से डर)

Hylophobia- Fear of trees (पेड़ों का डर)

Omphalophobia- fear of the navel (नाभि का डर)

NOVEL -

As a noun - a fictitious prose narrative of book length, typically representing character and action with some degree of realism ( उपन्यास/ कथा/ कहानी)

I have read all Chetan Bhagat's novels. (मैंने चेतन भगत के सभी उपन्यास पढ़े हैं।)

Have you ever wanted to write a novel? (क्या आप कभी एक उपन्यास लिखना चाहते हैं?)

This novel is boring. (यह उपन्यास उबाऊ है।)

Salman Rushdie's latest novel is selling really well. (सलमान रुश्दी का नया उपन्यास वास्तव में अच्छी तरह से बिक रहा है।)

As an adjective - interestingly new or unusual/ new and original, not like anything seen before (नया/ अनूठा/अद्भुत/ नयी तरह का)

The night in Antarctica was novel and interesting enough. (अंटार्कटिका में रात काफी अद्भुत और दिलचस्प थी।)

My uncle is always able to find novel ways to make use of broken appliances around the house. (मेरे चाचा हमेशा घर के चारों ओर टूटे हुए उपकरणों का उपयोग करने के नए तरीकों को ढूंढने में सक्षम हैं।)

Mohit gave them a novel idea to solve their financial problems. (मोहित ने उन्हें उनकी वित्तीय समस्याओं को हल करने के लिए एक नए तरह का विचार दिया।)

Keeping a sheep in the garden is a novel way of keeping the grass short. (बगीचे में भेड़ को रखना घास को कम रखने का एक अनूठा तरीका है।)

FOR WHAT/ WHATEVER IT'S WORTH or FOR ALL IT'S WORTH

Meaning: Used when you are unsure about the importance or usefulness of the outcomes. (किसी कार्य के लाभकारी परिणामों के बारे में अनिश्चित्ता की भावना)

Uses:
(say in place of - “I am not sure about it but...”)

• For what it’s worth, I think you cannot trust that man.(मैं इसके बारे में निश्चित नहीं हूँ, लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि आपको उस आदमी पर विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए।)

• For all it’s worth, we should follow the new plan.(मैं इसके परिणामों के बारे में अनिश्चित हूँ लेकिन हमें नई योजना का पालन करना चाहिए।)

It's also used in a situation where what you say may or may not make any difference to the current situation, but may provide for some kind of consolation.(यह ऐसी स्थिति में भी प्रयोग किया जाता है जहां आपका कुछ कहना न कहना वर्तमान स्थिति को नहीं बदल सकता, लेकिन फिर भी आप एक तस्सली देने की उम्मीद से अपनी बात को कह देते हैं)

Uses:
(say in place of - "I know it won't/doesn't make a difference but...")

• For whatever it’s worth, at least we tried our best.(मुझे पता है कि इससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता, लेकिन कम से कम हमने अपनी पूरी कोशिश की।)

• For what it’s worth, I am sorry that I did wrong with you.(मुझे पता है कि इससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता, लेकिन मुझे अफसोस है कि मैंने आपके साथ गलत किया।)
