Use of THAT

After the words- are, the same, none, nothing, any, only, the few, the little, etc.
e.g. All that glitters is not gold.
हर चमकती चीज सोना नहीं होती।
After adjective in a superlative degree.
e.g. Mr. Sinha is the most learned man that I have ever met.
अब तक मैं जितने भी लोगों से मिला, उनमें से श्री सिन्हा सबसे विद्वान व्यक्ति हैं।
In speaking of persons, animals, and lifeless things.
e.g. This is the same person that helped me.
यह वही व्यक्ति है जिसने मेरी मदद की।
After an interrogative Pronoun.
e.g. What is that disturbs you?
वह क्या है जो आपको परेशान करता है?
As a substitute for a single noun already mentioned.
e.g. The climate of Shimla is cooler than that of Delhi.
शिमला की जलवायु दिल्ली की तुलना में ठंडी है।
In an adverbial sense when that implied- when on which, etc.
e.g. We shall start working the day that you decide.
हम उस दिन काम करना शुरू करेंगे जो आप तय करते हैं।
