a) समय के साथ (With time)
I bought a car in 2008.
मैं 2008 में कार लाया था।
b) किसी बड़े स्थान के साथ जैसे की कोई देश, कोई राज्य, बड़ा नगर With large places
I live in USA.
मैं अमेरिका में रहता हूँ।
c) किसी चीज या वस्तु के अंदर में बताने के लिए (In some object)
He is swimming in the river.
वह नदी में तैर रहा है।

जब हमें How much/How many को बताना हो 
तो present perfect tense का use करना चाहिए जैसे -
It has taken six years to find the cure of AIDS. 
एड्स का इलाज खोजने में छह साल लग गए हैं।
पर जब हमें How long something has been happening (कब से कुछ हो रहा है) 
यह बताना है तो present perfect progressive tense का use करना चाहिए जैसे -
They have been observing this virus for two months. 
वे दो महीने से इस वायरस की समीक्षा रहे हैं।

And yet
Kiku got five rabbits, four dogs and seven pigeons and yet he wants more pets.
