यूँ तो confused होना एक बहुत ही common feeling है पर इस feeling की intensity अलग-अलग situations में different हो सकती है:

PERPLEXED - हैरान
Used when one simply cannot understand or make sense of something

BAFFLED - चकराया हुआ/ चकित
Used when a confusion surprises you quite intensely and you just can’t figure out what’s going on.

BEWILDERED - हक्का बक्का/ घबराया हुआ
At times, inability to understand something might lead to an intense form of confusion where one might feel frightened and that’s when we use this term

DAZED - स्तब्ध/ चौंधिया जाना
Used when someone is in a state of mental numbness especially as resulting from shock or bad news.

DISORIENTED - गुमराह
When confusion leads to a state where one might lose one’s sense of direction where to go or what to do.

At sea - Puzzled, perplexed, or completely confused (about a subject or some task at hand)
• I tried to do well in this class, but I've been at sea since we started. (मैंने इस कक्षा में अच्छा करने की कोशिश की, लेकिन जब से हमने शुरू किया तब से मैं घबराया हुआ हूँ।)

(All) balled up - troubled, confused, in a mess
• Anuj is all balled up because his car was stolen. (अनुज पूरी तरह से परेशान और उलझन में है क्योंकि उसकी कार चोरी हो गई थी।)

At a loss - totally perplexed
• She became popular and was at a loss to know why. (वह लोकप्रिय हो गई, और पूरी तरह से व्यग्र थी जानने के लिए कि क्यों।)

Zone out - fall asleep or lose concentration or consciousness.
• I sensed the class was zoning out, so I started talking louder. (मुझे लगा कि कक्षा एकाग्रता खो रही थी, इसलिए मैंने ज़ोर से बात करना शुरू कर दिया।)

WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES (SHUTS), ANOTHER OPENS
Meaning: यह एक proverb है जिसमें door का comparison opportunity यानि अवसर से किया गया है और सिखाया गया है क अगर एक मौका हाथ से निकल जाए तो निराश न हों, दूसरा मौका ज़रूर मिलेगा।
• Don’t be so upset about not getting this job, soon you will get a better job than this; always remember, when one door closes, another opens. (इस नौकरी न मिलने पर इतना निराश न हों, बहुत जल्द आपको इससे बेहतर नौकरी मिल जाएगी; हमेशा याद रखें, जब एक दरवाज़ा बंद होता है तो दुसरा खुल जाता है। )

THERE ARE PLENTY OF FISH IN THE SEA
Meaning: यहाँ plenty of fish का तातपर्य जीवन में अनेकों opportunities मिलने से हैं लेकिन इस idiom का use विशेषकर तब किया जाता है जब कोई प्रेम संबंधों में असफल रहा हो।
• I know Nina is heartbroken since her divorce, but she has to realize that there are plenty of fish in the sea. (मुझे पता है कि नीना अपने तलाक के बाद से बहुत उदास है, लेकिन उसे यह समझना होगा कि दुनिया में उसके लिए और बहुत से लोग मौजूद हैं।)

THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
Meaning: यहाँ tunnel शब्द का अर्थ है एक बहुत लम्बे से चल रही परेशानी या मुश्किल भरी स्थिति और ‘light’ शब्द का अर्थ है सुधार के संकेत
• For me, getting a decent job after struggling for years was like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. (वर्षों संघर्ष करने के बाद एक अच्छी नौकरी मिलना मेरे लिए परेशानी का समय समाप्त होने का संकेत था। )

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
Meaning: हमें अपने जीवन में कमियों पर ध्यान देने की बजाए जो भी हमारे पास है, उसके लिए आभारी रहना चाहिए। 

• Don’t be so sad, at least you’ve still got a job and somewhere to live; count your blessings!
(इतनी दुखी मत हो, कम से कम तुम्हारे पास अभी भी नौकरी और रहने के लिए जगह तो है; जीवन में जो तुम्हारे पास है उसके लिए आभारी हो!)

KEEP YOUR CHIN UP
Meaning: मुश्किल परिस्थितियों में भी खुश रहना सीखें। 

• My mom always taught me to keep my chin up in a difficult situation if I want to win.
(मेरी माँ ने हमेशा मुझे सिखाया कि जीत हासिल करने के लिए मुश्किल स्थिति में भी खुश रहना आना चाहिए।)

A LEAP OF FAITH
Meaning: किसी ऐसे काम को कर जाना जिसके अच्छे परिणाम का आपको निश्चित पता न हो, बल्कि जिसे करने पर अच्छे से ज़्यादा बुरे परिणाम की उम्मीद हो। 

• For me, accepting his promise after what he did last time was like taking a leap of faith.
(उसने जो पिछली बार किया, उसके बाद उसके वादे को स्वीकार करना मेरे लिए एक लीप ऑफ़ फेथ लेने जैसा था।)
