I like very much ice cream.

सामान्यतः हम “very much” को verb (like) और object (ice cream) के बीच नहीं लग्गते। सही वाक्य होगा - I like ice cream very much. सामान्य बोल चाल की भाषा में “I like ice cream a lot” या “I really like ice cream.” भी सही है।

Anuj gave to Meera the keys.

यहाँ पर भी “give” का प्रयॊग दो objects (indirect object - Meera और direct object - the keys) के बीच में नहीं होता। give के बाद 'to' का प्रयॊग भी असामान्य है। इस वाक्य को दो तरह से बोल सकते हैं - "Anuj gave Meera the keys." or " Anuj gave the keys to Meera."

She asked me where do I work.

यह वाक्य reported speech में हैं।  जब इस तरह के वाक्यों में प्रश्न पूछते हैं तो प्रश्न में auxiliary verb (do/does/did) का प्रयोग नहीं करते।अतः सही वाक्य होगा - “She asked me where I work.”

He left without say goodbye.

conjunctions और prepositions जैसे after, before, since, when, while, without, instead of, and in spite of के बाद verb की -ing form का प्रयॊग किया जाता है।  इसलिए सही वाक्य होगा "He left without saying goodbye.

I need to finish this project until Wednesday.

until का प्रयॊग उस परिस्थिति  को बताने के लिए होता है जो किसी certain moment तक चालू रहें।  जैसे - They are in the city until December. 'by' का प्रयॊग, किसी कार्य या घटना जो कि भविष्य के समय से पहले हो जाएगा, के लिए किया जाता है। By is often used with deadlines. सही वाक्य होगा - “I need to finish this project by Wednesday.”

apropos - (adjective) with reference to (प्रसंगानुकूल);

All these matters are apropos of what has been discussed before. (ये सभी मामले प्रसंगानुकूल हैं जिसके बारे में पहले चर्चा हो चुकी है।

art nouveau (noun) a new style of decorative art and architecture (एक नई शैली की सजावटी कला और स्थापत्य कला)

beau monde (noun) the fashionable society (फैशन परस्त समाज)

London is the centre of this jet-hopping beau monde. (लंदन इस जेट-हॉपिंग फैशन परस्त समाज का केंद्र है।)

bete noire (noun) a hateful person or thing (नापसंद वस्तु/ व्यक्ति)

Our neighbour was my father's bête noire. (हमारे पड़ोसी मेरे पिता के लिए नापसंद व्यक्ति थे।)

bona fide (adjective) real, genuine, true (वास्तविक)

She was a bona fide expert. (वह एक  प्रामाणिक विशेषज्ञ थी।)

Your future does not depend on the lines of your hands, because people who do not have hands also have a future. (हाथों की लकीरों पर बराबर विश्वास नही करना चाहिए क्योंकि तक़दीर तो उनकी भी होती है जिनके हाथ नही होते।)

कहा गया है कि अपना भविष्य अपने हाथों में होता है। उसे किस्मत पर नहीं छोड़ा जा सकता। अच्छे भविष्य का सपना सिर्फ यह कह कर नहीं छोड़ सकते कि हमारे हाथों में ये लकीर ही नहीं है या हमारी किस्मत में ये नहीं है। क्योंकि किस्मत तो उन लोगों की भी होती है जिनके हाथ नहीं होते। व्यक्ति अपनी किस्मत खुद लिखता है, अपने अच्छे या बुरे कर्मों से। हाथों की लकीरें सिर्फ हमारे अंधविश्वास को दर्शाती है।   

इसलिए कहा गया है - It is better to do your work than to be superstitious and wait for the right time.

a slow dance = a slow, romantic dance (एक धीमा, रोमांटिक डांस)

Mehak had a slow dance with her fiance. (महक ने अपने मंगेतर के साथ एक धीमा रोमांटिक डांस (नृत्य) किया था।)

burn up the dance floor = dance a lot (बहुत अधिक नृत्य करना)

They like burning up the dance floor. (वे बहुत अधिक नृत्य करना पसंद करते हैं।)

dance the night away = dance all night long (पूरी रात नाचना)

Mehak and her fiance danced the night away. (महक और उसके मंगेतर ने सारी रात नृत्य किया।)

dance cheek to cheek = dance very close to someone (किसी के बहुत पास आ कर नृत्य करना)

Everyone was looking at them dance cheek to cheek. (हर कोई उन्हें पास आ कर नृत्य करते हुए देख रहा था।)

put on your dancing shoes = get ready for dancing (नृत्य करने के लिए तैयार होना)

Put on your dancing shoes – it's your brother's marriage. (नृत्य करने के लिए तैयार हो जाओ - यह तुम्हारे भाई की शादी है।)

strut your stuff = enjoy dancing (नृत्य का आनंद उठाना)

Look at him strut his stuff. Who does he think he is? (उसे देखो अपने नृत्य का आनंद उठाते हुए। वह अपने आप को क्या समझता है?)
