With Bated Breath

Meaning:  In great suspense; very anxiously or excitedly(एक घबराहट वाली/उत्साहित मनोदशा में कुछ होने का इंतज़ार करना।)
If you wait for something with bated breath, you feel very excited while you are waiting.

Origin: इस phrase का सबसे प्रारंभिक ज्ञात उद्धरण शेक्सपियर के 'Merchant of Venice (1596 )' से है।Bated comes from the word ‘Abated’ which means ‘to bring down, lower or depress’ (कम करना, रोक-थाम करना )

Uses:
Rahul is waiting with bated breath for the results.(राहुल अपनी परीक्षा के परिणाम का बहुत बेचैनी से इंतज़ार कर रहा है।)

He waited for a reply to his offer with bated breath. (वह अपने प्रस्ताव के जवाब का उत्सुकता से प्रतीक्षा कर रहा था।)

A portmanteau word typically combines both sounds and meanings. (मिश्रशब्द दो या दो से अधिक शब्दों का संयोजन कर एक नया शब्द बनाता है। यह आमतौर पर ध्वनि और अर्थ दोनों को जोड़ता है।)
इस शब्द का प्रयोग Lewis Carroll (लुईस कैरोल) द्वारा पहली बार "Through the Looking-Glass" book में किया गया था।

break away --  अलग हो जाना (To separate from a crowd)

One of the cows broke away from her herd. (गायों में से एक अपने झुंड से अलग हो गयी।)

break down --  टूट जाना (To lose control of one’s emotions)

The convict finally broke down and confessed his crime. (अपराधी अंततः टूट गया और अपना अपराध कबूल कर लिया।)

खराब होना (stop operating or functioning)

The washing machine broke down so we had to call in the repair technician. (धोने की मशीन खराब हो गई, इसलिए हमें मरम्मत तकनीशियन को बुलाना पड़ा।)

break into --  ज़बरदस्ती घुस आना (To enter by force)

Burglars broke into my house last night. (चोर कल रात मेरे घर में जबरदस्ती घुस आए।)
