SHOW TRUE COLORS
To reveal one’s true nature ( किसी की असलियत सामने आ जाना )

OFF COLOR
Offensive jokes or remarks ( आपत्तिजनक चुटकुले या टिप्पणी )

• I don’t like her because she always gives off-color comments about people.

FALSE COLORS
Hypocrisy or misrepresentation/ to disguise one’s true nature or intentions ( ढोंग/ गलत बयानी/किसी के सच्ची प्रकृति या इरादों को छिपाना )

• Sam was sailing under false colors – he never told her that he was already married.
• सैम उसे धोखा दे रहा था।उसने कभी नहीं बताया कि वह पहले से ही विवाहित है।

NAIL (ONE’s) COLORS TO THE MAST
To publicly state your opinions about a subject ( सार्वजनिक रूप से खुलकर अपनी राय बताना )

• I don’t know what would be his next step. He never nails his colors to the mast.

FEAR NO COLORS
To be brave in a dangerous situation ( एक खतरनाक स्थिति में बहादुरी दिखाना )

FUCHSIA - फ्यूशा (bright, purplish-red colour)

TURQUOISE - टर-कोइज़ (greenish blue or bluish green colour)

BEIGE - बेज (very light brown or light grey with a brownish tinge)

CRIMSON - क्रिम-सन (rich deep red colour that has a hint of purple)

CYAN - सा-यान (a shade of blue colour with a hint of green)

MAROON - मरून (dark brownish-red colour in which the brown overpowers the shades of red)

DANDELION - डैंड-अ-लायन (a shade of yellow colour)

EMERALD - एम-रल्ड (bright green colour)

MAUVE- मोव (a pale bluish purple colour)
