DICE (डाइस)
खाने को छोटे मगर cube shape pieces में काटने को dice करना कहा जाता है।
So instead of asking someone to cut the food into small cubes, we can just ask them to dice it.
JULIENNE (जूलीएन)
जिस तरह dice करने का अर्थ cube-shaped pieces में cut करना है उसी तरह जब चीज़ों को लम्बी व पतली strips की shape में काटा जाता है तो उसे julienne करना कहते हैं।
Foods like carrot, ginger, capsicum, etc. are mostly cut by this process.
GRATE (ग्रेट)
जब हम सब्ज़ी, फल या cheese जैसी खाने की चीज़ों को बहुत ही महीन और लम्बे यानी shredded pieces में cut करते हैं तो उसे grate करना कहा जाता है।
The grating is done by rubbing the food against a metal object with small, sharp holes- also known as a grater.
MINCE (मिंस)
Mince करने का अर्थ है खाने को इतने महीन व छोटे pieces में काटना या pestle जैसे tools की मदद से कूटना की उनका कीमा बन जाए।
We use this process with foods like garlic and different type of meats.
