नवम्बर आधुनिक ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर और अपने पूर्ववर्ती, जूलियन कैलेंडर में साल का ग्यारहवां महीना है। नवम्बर मूल रोमन कैलेंडर में नौवां महीना था और इसमें 30 दिन होते थे। लैटिन में novem का अर्थ "नौ" होता है। 700 ईसा पूर्व के आसपास जब राजा Numa Pompilius ने कैलेंडर में सुधार किया और January और February महीनों को add किया तब यह साल का ग्यारहवां महीना बना। जूलियन कैलेंडर सुधार के दौरान, इसमें पुनः एक दिन जोड़ कर 30 दिन का बनाया गया। यह उत्तरी गोलार्द्ध में मई के मौसम के बराबर है।November starts on the same day of the week as February in common years and March every year. “Despite” और “in spite of” का अर्थ एक ही है।“despite” के बाद “of” का प्रयॊग नहीं होता। The correct sentence would be “They enjoyed the football game despite the rain” या “They enjoyed the football game in spite of the rain.”

जब age “is” के बाद आता है तब हम “years old” का प्रयॊग करते हैं जैसे - My daughter is five years old. पर अगर age एक adjective की तरह प्रयॊग हो (comes before the person (or object) as an adjective), तब हम years की जगह year का प्रयॊग करते हैं जैसे - My five-year-old daughter loves to dance.

“Near” और “close to” का अर्थ समान है। परन्तु “near” के बाद “to” नहीं आता। The correct sentence is “Our house is near the hospital” या “Our house is close to the hospital.”
