buttery - खाने में बहुत सारा मक्खन होना या मक्खन का स्वाद आना

calorific - बहुत सारी कैलोरी युक्त खाद्य जो आपको मोटा कर सकता है

caramelized - caramelized food पर जले हुए चीनी की एक परत होती है

chewy - chewy food को निगलने से पहले कुछ देर चबाया जाता है

chilled - खाने को अधिक समय तक अच्छा और ताजा रखने के लिए खाद्य या पेय को एकदम ठंडा किया जाता है

cool - खाद्य जो अब ठंडा हो चुका है गर्म नहीं है

creamy (मलाईदार)- क्रीम से बना हुआ या क्रीम युक्त खाद्य

crisp/ crispy (खस्ता) - crisp foodको कहते समय एक आवाज़ आती है

crunchy (कुरकुरा) - crunchy foods को काटते समय एक तेज आवाज़ आती है, यह एक तरह से crispy food की तरह ही होता है

crystallized - crystallized फल या मीठे खाद्य पदार्थ चीनी क्रिस्टल के साथ आते हैं

TO COOK THE BOOKS - किसी कंपनी या संगठन के वित्तीय खातों में हिसाब-किताब की संख्याओं में फेर बदल करना, खासकर बेईमानी से पैसों की चोरी करने के उद्देश्य से।
• He took great advantage of his position in the company and for his own advantage, cooked the books for many years.(उसने कंपनी में अपने पद का बहुत फायदा उठाया और अपने फायदे के लिए कई सालों तक खातों में फेर बदल करता रहा।)

TO COOK SOMETHING UP - एक चतुर या कुटिल कहानी, बहाना, या योजना बनाना
• I had to cook up an excuse for not arriving on time for the company's annual meeting. (कंपनी की वार्षिक मीटिंग में समय से न पहुंच पाने पर मुझे बहाना बनाना पड़ा)

TO COOK SOMEONE'S GOOSE - किसी को निचा दिखाने के लिए उनकी योजनाओं को बर्बाद करना या फिर किसी के पतन का कारण बन जाना
• He thinks he'll get away with stealing my idea, but I'm going to cook his goose.(उसे लगता है कि वह मेरी योजना चुरा कर बच निकलेगा, लेकिन मैं भी उसके प्लान को बर्बाद कर दूंगा।)

HEAD COOK AND THE BOTTLEWASHER - ऐसा व्यक्ति जिस पर हर छोटे या बड़े, महत्वपूर्ण या ममहत्वहीन काम को पूरा करने की ज़िम्मेदारी हो।
• For the past ten years, I have been working here like a head cook and the bottlewasher.(पिछले दस सालों से, मैं यहां के हर छोटे व बड़े काम को संभाल रहा हूं।)

TOO MANY COOKS SPOIL THE BROTH - यह एक कहावत है जिसका अर्थ यह है कि जब एक ही काम को बहुत सारे लोग करने की कोशिश करते हैं तो वह काम खराब हो जाता है या उसका अंत अच्छा नहीं हो पाता।

bag and baggage - बोरिया-बिस्तर के साथ

lion's share - सबसे बड़ा हिस्सा

few and far between - बहुत कम

in the dark - अंधेरे में/ अनजान होना
I am quite in the dark about this matter. (मैं इस मामले में काफी अंधेरे में हूं।)

once for all - सर्वदा के लिए
I have told you once for all that I will not help you in this matter. (मैंने आपको सर्वदा के लिए कहा है कि मैं इस मामले में आपकी मदद नहीं करूंगा।
