Prefixes वो शब्द है जो किसी अन्य शब्द के आगे लग कर उनका अर्थ बदल देते हैं और एक नया शब्द बनाते हैं। Prefixes can create a new word opposite in meaning to the word the prefix is attached to. आज हम इसी शृंखला में MIS prefix के बारे में जानते हैं जिसका अर्थ “ill,” “mistaken,” “wrong,” “incorrectly,” or साधारणतयः नकारात्मक अर्थ होता है। जैसे -

Generous (उदार) – Stingy (कंजूस)

Giant (विशालकाय) – Dwarf (बौना)

Gloomy (उदास) – Cheerful (हंसमुख)

Guilty (दोषी) – Innocent (मासूम)

Hire (मजदूरी पर रखना) – Fire (नौकरी से बर्खास्त करना)

Include (सम्मिलित) – Exclude (असम्मिलित)
