AT THE ELEVENTH HOUR

Meaning: At the last possible moment or opportunity

जब किसी कार्य को ऐन मौके पर यानि बिलकुल अंतिम समय या क्षण में किया जाए, तब इस phrase का use किया जाता है।
If someone does something at the eleventh hour, they do it at the last possible moment.

घड़ी में 12 बजे का समय एक तरह से परिवर्तन दर्शाता है, जैसे कि सुबह से दोपहर (am to pm) या फिर एक तिथि से दूसरी तिथि ।
That's why it’s considered that the 12th hour of the day marks the end of a certain time frame. This, in turn, makes the 11th hour (idiomatically) as the last possible moment to complete doing something within the given time limit.

Uses:
• The PM didn't disclose his decision till the eleventh hour. (प्रधानमंत्री ने अंतिम क्षण तक अपने फैसले का खुलासा नहीं किया।)

• He postponed his trip at the eleventh hour. (उन्होंने ऐन मौके पर अपनी यात्रा स्थगित कर दी।)

• Study regularly every day instead of leaving it all for the eleventh hour. (अंतिम समय के लिए सब छोड़ने की बजाय हर दिन नियमित रूप से पढ़ाई करें। )

Walking on air - अत्यधिक प्रसन्नता की स्थिति (to be very happy; to be euphoric)
• On the last day of school, all the children are walking on air. (स्कूल के अंतिम दिन, सभी बच्चे अत्यधिक प्रसन्न हैं।)

Keep one's chin up - उत्साह को बनाये रखना (to keep one's spirits high/ happy despite bad things/ to act brave and confident)
• Keep your chin up Kiran; things will get better. (अपने जोश को बनाये रखो किरण; सब ठीक हो जायेगा।)

Fed up - ऊबा हुआ (bored or disgusted with someone or something)
• I'm fed up with her - she always keeps me waiting. (मैं उससे ऊब गया हूं - वह हमेशा मुझे इंतज़ार करवाती है।)

Shaken up - हिला हुआ (greatly startled, shocked, or upset)
• After the accident, she was completely shaken up. (दुर्घटना के बाद वह पूरी तरह से हिल गई थी।)

Under the weather - अस्वस्थ (not completely well)
•It's hard to keep working when you're under the weather. (जब आप अस्वस्थ होते हैं तो काम जारी रखना मुश्किल होता है।)

TO EAT THE HUMBLE PIE →गलत साबित होने पर विनम्रता से अपनी गलती के लिए माफी मांग लेना
• If you tell him clearly then I am sure he will eat the humble pie.(अगर तुम उन्हें साफ़ साफ़ बता दोगे तो मुझे यकीन है कि वे विनम्रता से अपनी गलती की माफी मांग लेंगे। )

TO EAT THE DIRT →शिकायत के बिना किसी और के द्वारा की गयी आलोचना या अपमान को स्वीकार कर लेना
• I think you should have retorted instead of eating the dirt. (मुझे लगता है आपको अपनी आलोचना को स्वीकार करने के बजाय उसे जवाब देना चाहिए था।)

TO HAVE A LOT ON YOUR PLATE →एक ही समय पर करने के लिए बहुत कुछ होना
• I can’t go on the trip this month, I have a lot on my plate right now. (मैं इस महीने घूमने नहीं जा सकता, मेरे पास करने के लिए इस वक़्त बहुत काम है।)
