Pick at - धीरे धीरे खाना (to eat food in small pieces and without enjoyment)

Kiran picks at his food. He eats like a bird. (किरण अपने भोजन को बहुत धीरे धीरे खाता है। वह एक पक्षी की तरह खाता है।)

चिड़ाना या परेशान करना (to irritate, to bother)

I hate my new boss. He constantly picks at my work and often tells me to do it again. (मैं अपने नए बॉस को नापसंद करता हूँ। वह हमेशा मेरे काम के लिए परेशान करते हैं और अक्सर मुझे पुनः करने के लिए कहते है।)

Pick off - तोड़ना/ हटाना - जो किसी और वस्तु पर चिपका हो (to remove something that was adhered to something else)

I picked off the price tag before wrapping the gift. (मैंने उपहार को लपेटने से पहले प्राइस टैग को हटा दिया।)

Pick on - किसी को परेशान करना, धमकाना, या तंग करना (to harass, bully, or tease someone)

Teenagers always pick on the new kid in school. (युवा लड़के हमेशा स्कूल में नए बच्चे को परेशान करते हैं।)

Pick up -  उठाना (to lift)

He picked up his book and left the room. (उसने अपनी किताब उठाई और कमरा छोड़ दिया।)

सीखना (to learn through experience)

I picked up a little German when I lived in Germany. (जब मैं जर्मनी में रहता था तो मैंने एक थोड़ी जर्मन सीखीं।)

किसी को गाड़ी से पिक करना (to get somebody by car)

Please come to my office and pick me up at noon.  (कृपया मेरे कार्यालय आएं और मुझे दोपहर में पिक करें।)

पुनः शुरु करना (to continue something at a later date)

Let’s finish this for the day and pick it up again tomorrow. (इसे खत्म करो और कल फिर से पुनः शुरू करना।)

यह सच है की English language में singular words यानि एकवचन को plural (बहुवचन) बनाने के लिए ज़्यादातर शब्द के अंत में '-s' या '-es' जोड़ दिया जाता है।
लेकिन, कुछ words ऐसे भी हैं जिनकी plural forms एक नए और अलग शब्द से denote की जाती हैं।
जैसे:

SINGULAR - PLURAL

Person - People

Foot - Feet

Tooth - Teeth

Mouse - Mice

Child - Children

Woman - Women

Goose - Geese

Leaf - Leaves
