Fun or Funny में अंतर जानें

10 Oct 2017
बहुत बार हम fun और funny के अंतर को ना समझ कर इनका प्रयोग गलत जगहों पर कर देते हैं। Festive season शुरू हो चुका है और अच्छा है अगर हम अपनी अंग्रेज़ी सीखने में fun लाए ना कि ग़लत अंग्रेज़ी का प्रयोग कर funny बनें। A comedian is…. FUNNY (क्यूंकि वह हमें हंसाता है।)Going to an amusement park is … FUN (क्यूंकि amusement park में हम enjoy करते हैं और अच्छा समय व्यतीत करते हैं।)Fun = Enjoyable, when you enjoy yourself and have a good timeFun एक uncountable noun है जिसका अर्थ ‘pleasure and enjoyment’ (आनंद/ आमोद-प्रमोद) होता है। इसका प्रयोग adjective की तरह भी हो सकता है। To talk about enjoying yourself, you can say that something is "fun" or that you "had a lot of fun". जैसे -It was fun to go to the beach with Rita’s family. (रीता के परिवार के साथ समुद्र तट पर जाना मजेदार था।)English class is fun! (अंग्रेजी कक्षा मज़ेदार है!)I think playing soccer is more fun than playing basketball. (मुझे लगता है कि फुटबॉल खेलना बास्केटबॉल खेलने से ज्यादा मज़ेदार है।)Funny = it makes you laughFunny is an adjective and it means ‘amusing’ or ‘causing laughter’ (मजाकिया/ मज़ेदार/ हास्यमय). जैसे - My Uncle is a very funny man. He's always telling jokes! (मेरा चाचा बहुत मजाकिया आदमी है। वह हमेशा जोक्स कहते हैं।)The movie is really funny. (फिल्म वास्तव में मज़ेदार हैं।)Funny का अर्थ 'strange’, ‘surprising’, ‘unexpected’ or ‘difficult to explain or understand’ भी होता है। जैसे - I heard a funny incident yesterday. (मैंने कल एक अजीब घटना सुनी।)   Click here to read our latest blog: Confusing Connotations
