ad hominem: व्यक्ति विशेष के लिये लांछन युक्त प्रतिक्रिया (of an argument or reaction) directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining)

The candidates agreed to focus on the issues rather than making ad hominem attacks against each other. (उम्मीदवार एक दूसरे के खिलाफ लांछन युक्त प्रतिक्रिया के बजाय मुद्दों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के लिए सहमत हुए।)

ad infinitum:  अनंत काल तक (continuing or repeated without ever ending; endlessly)

It is their arrogance that guarantees their failures will repeat ad infinitum. (यह उनका अहंकार है जो अनंत काल तक उनकी नाकामी को दोहराने की गारंटी देता है।)

Ad libitum: बिना तैयारी के (Speak or perform without previously preparing one's words)

He is famous for singing ad libitum. (वह बिना तैयारी के गायन के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।)

ad valorem: मूल्यवर्धित कर ((tax or duty) levied according to the value of the goods or transaction)

agent provocateur: प्रतिनिधि (जो गलत कार्य करने वाले को पकड़वाता है)/ अपराध के लिए उकसाने वाला (someone employed to induce others to do illegal acts so that they can be convicted)

An agent provocateur came here for investigation. (अपराध के लिए उकसाने वाला प्रतिनिधि यहां जांच के लिए आया था।)

"Beauty in things exists merely in the mind which contemplates them." सौन्दर्य की कोई परिभाषा नहीं है। The concept of beauty has evolved from era to era. यह व्यक्ति पर निर्भर करता है कि उसे कब और कौन सी चीज़ (या व्यक्ति) पसंद आए। यह पूर्णतयः व्यक्ति की चेतना (senses) और चिंतन (mind) पर निर्भर है। हो सकता है जो एक व्यक्ति के लिए सुन्दर हो अन्य व्यक्ति के लिए ना हो। सुंदरता वह नहीं है जो सिर्फ आँखों को प्रसन्न करें, बल्कि अन्य इंद्रियों और मन को भी प्रसन्न करें, वहीँ सुंदरता है। कोई भी व्यक्ति या वस्तु अपने आप में सुन्दर या बदसूरत (beautiful or ugly) नहीं होती; बल्कि उनकी सुंदरता या कुरूपता जो लोग उन्हें देख रहे हैं, उनके सोच में होती है - "सुंदरता देखने वाले की नजर में है"। यह कहना उचित है कि दुनिया की हर वस्तु और व्यक्ति सुन्दर है पर हर कोई उस सुंदरता को देख नहीं पाता। Every individual has different opinions. इसलिए कहा गया है - Beauty is subjective. (सौंदर्य व्यक्तिगत है।)

Margaret Wolfe Hungerford (Hamilton) को व्यापक रूप से इस कहावत को प्रचलित करने का श्रेय जाता है। पर वास्तविकता में यह Plato के एक ब्यान की संक्षिप्त व्याख्या है।
