pointless: व्यर्थ/ निरर्थक (useless)

Talking to him is pointless, he never listens. (उससे बात करना व्यर्थ है, वह कभी नहीं सुनता।)

A point of view: दृष्टिकोण (a way of judging a situation based on a particular aspect)

From my point of view, all this talk is a waste of time. (मेरे दृष्टिकोण से, यह सब बात समय की बर्बादी है।)

point out: इशारा करना (to select or indicate someone or something (from a group))  

She pointed out the boy who took her purse. (उसने लड़के की ओर इशारा किया जो उसका पर्स ले गया था।)

point out something: ध्यान दिलाना (to tell someone something)

My father pointed out some spelling errors in my paper. (मेरे पिता ने मेरे पेपर में कुछ वर्तनी की त्रुटियों का ध्यान दिलाया।)

point the finger at someone: किसी को दोष देना (to blame someone)

When criticized, he was quick to point the finger at his co-workers. (जब आलोचना की गई, तो उसने तुरंत अपने सह-कार्यकर्ताओं पर दोष लगाया।)

point blank: सीधे-सीधा/ स्पष्ट रूप से (in a very firm and direct way)

Atulya declared point-blank that she would never go there again. (अतुल्य ने स्पष्ट रूप से कहा कि वह कभी भी फिर से वहां नहीं जाएगा।)

A point of no return: जिस पल को कुछ बदलना या रोकना असंभव हो जाए (the moment at which it becomes impossible to change or stop something)

He warned that global warming would soon reach a point of no return. (उसने चेतावनी दी कि ग्लोबल वार्मिंग को जल्द ही रोकना असंभव हो जाएगा।)

turning point: नया मोड़/ क्रांतिकारी परिवर्तन (a time when an important change takes place in a situation, especially one that makes it better)

Losing his father was the turning point of his career. (अपने पिता को खोना उसके करियर का नया मोड़ था।)

beside the point - महत्वहीन (irrelevant; of no importance)

Sushant had certainly lied to her, but that was beside the point. (सुशांत ने निश्चित रूप से उससे झूठ बोला था, लेकिन यह महत्वहीन था।)

to the point: प्रासंगिक (relevant and worth paying attention to)

Her answer was short and to the point. (उसका जवाब छोटा और प्रासंगिक था।)

make/prove one's point: प्रभावी ढंग से विचार को व्यक्त करना (effectively express one's idea)

I think you've made your point very clearly.( मुझे लगता है कि आपने अपने विचार को बहुत स्पष्ट ढंग से रखा।)

make a point of (something): महत्व देना (to turn someone or something into an important matter)

Please don't make a point of Isha's comment. It wasn't that important. (कृपया ईशा की टिप्पणी को महत्त्व ना दें। यह महत्वपूर्ण नहीं था।)

on the point of (doing something): वाला ही/ होने वाला ही (ready to start doing something)

We were on the point of leaving when the phone rang. (हम बस जाने ही वाले थे जब फोन बजा।)

up to a point: कुछ हद तक लेकिन पूरी तरह से नहीं (to some degree but not completely)

This story is true, but only up to a point. (यह कहानी सच है, लेकिन केवल कुछ हद तक)

Know prefix ANTI
