PREDICAMENT -  एक बुरी स्थिति जिससे बाहर निकलना मुश्किल हो।
• The hotel's financial predicaments led to its permanent closure. (होटल की खराब वित्तीय दशा उसके हमेशा के लिए बंद होने का कारण बनी।)

DILEMMA -  ऐसी परिस्थिति जिसमें आपको एक विकल्प चुनने का मुश्किल निर्णय लेना पड़ता है।
• This new job offer has put me in a bit of a dilemma. (इस नई नौकरी के प्रस्ताव ने मुझे थोड़ी दुविधा में डाल दिया है।)

ORDEAL - एक दर्दनाक या भयावह अनुभव, खासकर वह जो लंबे समय तक जारी रहता है।
• The victim's ordeal ended when the court finally punished her culprits after a 12-year trial. (पीड़िता की कड़ी परिक्षा तब समाप्त हुई जब अदालत ने 12 साल से चल रहे  मुकदमे के बाद उसके अपराधियों को आखिरकार दंडित किया।)

TEETHING PROBLEMS - किसी भी नए काम में आने वाली शुरुआती परेशानियां।
• Don't lose hope yet, these are just some teething problems. (अभी से ही उम्मीद मत छोड़ो, ये तो सिर्फ कुछ शुरुआती समस्याएं हैं।)

IMPASSE - एक ऐसी स्थिति जहाँ प्रगति होना असंभव है, जिसका मुख्या कारण कार्य में शामिल लोगों के बीच असहमती होना होता है।
• Due to the current political impasse, this bill won’t be passed in this parliamentary session. (वर्तमान राजनीतिक गतिरोध के कारण इस संसदीय सत्र में यह बिल पारित नहीं हो सकेगा।)

TAKE (someone) OFF → To imitate someone humorously (मज़ाक के तौर पर किसी की नक़ल उतारना)
• Sam is really good at taking people off.(Sam लोगों की नक़ल उतारने में काफी अच्छा है।)

PUT (someone) OFF → To upset someone or to cause someone to lose interest or enthusiasm (किसी की रुचि या उत्साह खोने का कारण बनना)
• His rude behavior always puts everyone off.
(उनका असभ्य व्यवहार हमेशा हर किसी को परेशान कर देता है। )

BLOW OFF → To ignore someone or cancel plans with someone (किसी को नजरअंदाज करना या बने हुए plan को अचानक रद्द करना )
• I did not like it that she blew off the dinner plan without giving any reason.
(मुझे अच्छा नहीं लगा कि उसने बिना कोई कारण दिए डिनर के प्लान को रद्द कर दिया।)

FACE OFF → Somewhat aggressive confrontation, especially in a competition (आमने सामने का मुकाबला करना )
• The two candidates will face each other off in a debate tomorrow.
(दोनों राजनीतिक उम्मीदवार कल एक बहस में एक-दूसरे का सामना करेंगे।)

LAUGH OFF → To treat someone or something as if it doesn’t matter to you(ऐसे जाताना कि आपके लिए कोई व्यक्ति या वस्तु कोई महत्त्व नहीं रखता हो)
• She laughed off the criticism she received for her new book.
(उसने अपनी नई किताब को मिली आलोचना को हंसी में उड़ा दिया।)

PULL OFF → To succeed in doing something difficult or unexpected (किसी मुश्किल प्रतीत हो रहे या अनपेक्षित कार्य को करने में सफल होना)
• I don't think he'll be able to pull off this role.
(मुझे नहीं लगता कि वह इस भूमिका को निभाने में सक्षम होग।)

WRITE OFF

Meaning: To treat like or decide that someone or something is not important or significant. (यह तय कर लेना कि कोई व्यक्ति या वस्तु महत्वपूर्ण नहीं है। )

When you write someone or something off, you are actually belittling its value.
किसी परेशानी या किसी प्रकार की कमी के कारण व्यक्ति या वस्तु की अहमियत को कम कर देना ही 'write off' का अर्थ है। 

Uses:

•  Most critics wrote him off as a petty artist until he received a national award.
(अधिकांश समीक्षकों ने उसे एक तुच्छ कलाकार समझा, जब तक कि उसे एक राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार नहीं मिल गया।)

• A lot of parents tend to write creativity off as a successful career option.
(बहुत सारे अभिभावक रचनात्मकता को एक सफल कैरियर विकल्प के रूप में महत्तवता नही देते हैं ।)
